Brilliant Star Speech Pathology provides therapy in a safe and familiar environment in Sydney’s Inner West and surrounding suburbs. Services are provided mostly in the home, and with permission at the child’s preschool, childcare centre, or school. We provide comprehensive assessments, treatments and consultations for children and adolescents with speech and language difficulties.

EXPRESSIVE AND RECEPTIVE LANGUAGE
This refers to understanding instructions, directions and language, putting sentences together correctly and using correct grammar forms such as: pronouns, verbs and prepositions.
Literacy
Reading, writing, spelling, rhyming, syllable counting, sounding out and knowing what sounds letters make.
SPEECH (ARTICULATION AND PHONOLOGY)
Using the correct sounds, substituting sounds, leaving sounds out or producing extra sounds in words
SOCIAL SKILLS AND SOCIAL USE OF LANGUAGE (PRAGMATICS)
Conversation skills, understanding social cues and relationship building based on communication strategies.
FLUENCY/STUTTERING
Repeating sounds, syllables, whole words or phrases. This also includes non-verbal stuttering such as blocking and facial grimacing.
ATTENTION AND LISTENING
Listening and attention are essential for the development of speech, language, communication skills and learning.
